BM TRADA Certification
is a leading multi-sector certification body accredited by UKAS (United
Kingdom Accreditation Service). Originally established to develop quality

into many other sectors including manufacturing; distribution; local authorities;
paper; printing; software; legal & professional services; agriculture
and food, to name but a few.
BS 7412 Specification
for Plastic Windows made from PVC-U Extruded Hollow Profiles. This specification
covers the construction of the window, security, safety, operation, weather
performance, and strength performance. The requirements of BS6375 for
weather performance are now incorporated within this British Standard.
When people refer to a window having the kitemark, it is this standard
which they are talking about.
BS 7950 Specification for
enhanced security performance of casement and tilt/turn windows for domestic
applications. (formerly PAS011).This specification deals with the enhanced
security performance of casement and tilt/turn windows for domestic applications.
In most cases other characteristics will also require consideration, for
example, safety, means of escape, weather-tightness and mechanical performance.
PAS 23 & 24 Enhanced Security
for Doors. This standard covers the security testing and performance of
Residential Doors. As with the windows the certificate is granted only
on the basis that the PVC-U profiles, screw fixings, and hardware collectively
meet the requirements of the standard, and the doors are fabricated in
accordance with the systems companies fabrication manuals.
